How to Fix Hormone Imbalance For Women's Health

There is a directly proportional relationship between hormone imbalance and women's health. As long as hormones are in adequate levels, cells, tissues, organs and systems will function properly and the body will be able to combat stress, fight disease and recovery better. There are several natural methods to help attain optimum health by balancing hormones. Here's how.

Herbal Treatment

Chaste tree berry or vitex agnus castus, monk's pepper or hemp tree is considered by many as the most important herb in treating PMS or premenstrual syndrome. It is known for its positive effects on alleviating symptoms such as breast pain, painful menses and irregular menses. The herb primarily acts on the pituitary gland and hypothalamus in the brain. The fruit of the plant specifically has contents with dopamine-like activity that inhibits the release of prolactin thereby increasing progesterone production during the luteal phase of the menstrual cycle. Estrogen dominance can be avoided and treated.

Wild yams contain diosgenin which manufactures natural progesterone efficiently. The hormone is actually plant-derived but has exactly the same chemical properties as the ones naturally produced by the body. Estrogen dominance during the luteal phase is suggested to be the leading cause of PMS symptoms so taking adequate amounts of the herb can correct the problem.

Evening primrose oil or oenothera biennis comes from the seeds of the plant and is known for its essential fatty acid content. The important oils in the herb are gamma-linoleic acid or GLA and linoleic acid. The conversion of linoleic acid to GLA is generally impaired in most women exhibiting PMS symptoms. Evening primrose oil can improve levels of GLA to improve PMS.

More Methods

Other herbs that are known to alleviate menopausal syndrome include Dong Quai or Angelica sinensis which helps with cramps, weakness and irregular menses, licorice or Glycyrrhiza glabra which helps increase progesterone levels, Black Cohosh or Cimicifuga racemosa which exhibits estrogen-like activity, Kava Kava or Piper methysticum which relieves anxiety and stress and Valerian or Valeriana officinalis which helps improve sleep and rest.

Try alternate methods that relieve stress and boost hormone production such as aromatherapy, massage, therapeutic touch, acupuncture, acupressure, hypnotherapy and mental imagery. Stay away from alcohol and tobacco since these can aggravate PMS symptoms. Eat more nutritious foods rich in vitamins and minerals especially iron to alleviate bleeding problems. Exercise regularly by doing mild to moderate cardiovascular activity at least three times per week. Sleep well each night and rest for at least 7 to 8 hours.

Menstrual Problems

There are three common menstrual disorders namely dysmenorrhea which is excess menstruation, menorrhea which is less menstruation and amenorrhea which is absent menstruation. Scanty menstruation may be caused by vitamin B, vitamin C or potassium deficiency. In some cases hyperacidity and flatulence may also cause the problem so women need to eat healthy and high-fiber diets to ease discomfort and pain. Primary amenorrhea can be related to genetic links while secondary amenorrhea is basically caused by stress or illness. Hydrotherapy, steam baths, acupressure and massage can alleviate the symptoms.

As for PMS, patients can try deep breathing exercises 2 to 3 times each day. To fix hormone imbalance for women's health, individuals need to consume more raw fruits and vegetables, fruit juices and soups. Supplementation especially iron and calcium are also recommended. Women may also want to try naturopathic treatments which are proven to be safe, natural and reliable.

Discover what your doctor may not be telling you about fixing weight problems, depression, fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue, and how it's related to hormone imbalance. And also about a new diet that is different than any of the current popular diets like The Atkins Diet, Weight Watchers, Jenny Craig Diet and many others.

Women's Health & Menopause - What Role Does Nutrition Play?

Creating a "quality" menopause transition requires following certain guidelines to minimize its effects on women's health. You probably know that this condition wrecks havoc on female anatomy creating chemical imbalances and overall discomfort for a period of time (both short and long).

Bouts of anxiety, physical symptoms such as hot flashes and vibrations ripping through the body, vaginal discomfort, relationship issues, and the realization that women are stepping into the next phase of their lives are critical changes one must face.

Menopause and exercising proper women's health can easily go hand in hand with a little extra effort. In order to lessen the severity of symptoms, women need to be informed about proper nutrition including vitamin and other supplement consumption. Let's look into some vitamins that can help.

Some of the physical symptoms of menopause include night sweats, itchy, crawly vibrations throughout the body, and general discomfort. An excellent vitamin to take is Vitamin E. Taken in a dose of 800 IU daily, it helps prevent these conditions from happening. Make sure you take one pill with each of your meals, as capsules are best activated in the body when consumed with food.

A good vitamin to aid depression and hot flashes during sleep is magnesium as well (taken in a dose of 1,000 mg. daily). Another one of the letter vitamins that is great for menopausal symptoms and immune system building is Vitamin B-6.

It is a diuretic, which means it flushes out any excess liquid in the body that can cause discomfort. It also aids in processing protein and fights against disease. Women suffering under this condition also experience depressive symptoms, something Vitamin B-6 can combat. Regular Vitamin B can ease anxiety and fight stress as well.

Did you know menopause can cause weak bones? In a condition known as osteoporosis, bones start to become brittle and can break with ease performing the simplest tasks, such as opening a car door or turning suddenly. A quality vitamin such as calcium can help. However, make sure you also take calcium with magnesium and Vitamin D together because they help absorb calcium into the blood stream.

Hormones are also impacted by this wonderful vitamin, as it acts as its "engine" in being spread out throughout the body. Remember, if you don't want to consume pills and capsules, you can eat foods and drink liquids rich in vitamins such as orange juice, peanuts, soybeans, broccoli, bananas, and milk (calcium loaded). Most doctors would recommend a daily multi-vitamin and antioxidant.

Taking the hormone known as DHEA can also do wonders to battle the effects of menopause. One of the few over the counter pills that also serves as a hormone, it actually produces sex hormones in both men and women. DHEA promotes the functioning of enzymes that speed up bodily processes, block fat cells, and fights disease. DHEA is actually produced by the body in the adrenal glands, but declines in amount as we get older. That's why it's crucial to keep taking DHEA to keep the body in optimum health and fight this condition.

Pound for pound, the most critical thing women can do to lessen the severity of menopause is to follow a clean and healthy lifestyle including exercise and listen to their doctor. Avoid eating McDonalds, drinking sodas, and consuming other foods packed with sugars and preservatives. Make it a habit to drink water and provide yourself with a solid social network of friends that will provide support to you when you're down and need someone to talk to. Overall, keep your body in line and in shape against menopause by acquainting yourself with proper nutrition and necessary vitamins.

Women's Health Care in Pakistan

Pakistan has poor health as well as sanitation infrastructure. This is especially true in the rural regions of the country. About 19% of the Paki population is malnourished as against the 17% average maintained for developing countries. Astoundingly, 30% of the child population under the age of 5 is malnourished! Some of the leading causes of diseases and death are gastroenteritis, respiratory infections, tuberculosis, congenital abnormalities, malaria, and typhoid fever. According to the United Nations estimates AIDS will be the single major health concern, could soon take the shape of an epidemic. As of 2003, there were just 68 doctors for every 100,000 Pakistanis. By 2002, the country had 12,501 health institutions including 4,590 dispensaries, 906 hospitals and a total count of 80,665 hospital beds. The rural regions had only 550 health centers with a total count of 8,840 beds.

However, that being said it is heartening to see that the Pakistani government is committed to the cause of having a healthier and well-looked after population. This is specially evidenced by the new health, nutrition, and population guidelines issued by the government's National Health Policy Guidelines till 2010. One of the redeeming aspects of this promising initiative is the introduction of a lady health worker (LHW). A community-based service, this program aims to give health related information, basic health care tips, and family planning guidance to women in Pakistan. Currently, there are 3,000 women serving as LHWs in their communities.

While there have been many health-related plans being implemented by the government, one health issue that is still a major cause of concern for women of Pakistan is the high neonatal and maternal mortality rates. Developed countries have been successful in reducing the number of deaths of pregnant women by educating and training the nurses-midwives, some developing nations have been unable to do so. Though the exact maternal and neonatal mortality rates of women in Pakistan are unavailable, it is generally believed that the rate could be around 30-50% (or higher).

If the factors that contribute to this high mortality rate could be controlled, a reduction in the neonatal death rate is likely to come down significantly. Using capable and trained nurses or midwives for deliveries and other women health related issues throughout Pakistan, would be greatly instrumental in a lower mortality rate and better health of the country's women as well as child population.

Neonatal and maternal health issues are wide spread and complicated due to frequent child births. Shocking as it may seem, but one out of every 38 women dies during child birth. The infant mortality rate is no better and stands at 101 deaths per 1,000 kids, while for those aged below 5 have higher mortality rate with 140 deaths per 1,000 births. These numbers far exceed the averages for developing countries by 60% and 36% respectively.

Though more and more men and women in Pakistan are using contraceptives, the rate of fertility still remains high and there is an average of 5.3 births per woman with population growth rate much higher than anywhere else in South Asia.

But perhaps more plaguing than these diseases are the multiple issues of society that considers women as low.

Women's Health - Can Omega3 Fish Oil Boost Women's Health?

Omega3 fish oil fatty acid supplements may boost women's health.

Fish oil has been shown to be beneficial for many health conditions. PMS, menopausal symptoms, hormonal imbalances, cervical cancer and breast cancer may benefit.

A number of authorities have recently recommended increased intake of omega-3 fatty acids by the general population. Because of this, we are now seeing more products (eggs, yogurt, milk, margarine, etc) that are fortified with omega3s. The question is, how much omega3s are actually in these products and what is the omega6 to omega3 ratio. The individual's goal should be to increase omega3 consumption while reducing omega6. Since most of the fortified foods contain both, they are not likely to be beneficial.

When it comes to men's and women's health, regular dietary intake of fatty fish like salmon is probably a good idea, as long as it comes from the Pacific Ocean. The Atlantic Ocean is heavily polluted. Fish from the Atlantic contain high levels of mercury and PCBs.

Fish Oil - Best Source of Omega3/DHA

The better fish oil supplements are molecularly distilled to remove mercury and other contaminants. Eating a little fish sometimes is okay. But, the best way to insure that you get enough omega-3 fatty acids every day is to take a molecularly distilled supplement.

DHA is Very Important

Some manufacturers suggest that flax seed oil is better than fish oil. But flax seed contains only ALA. The omega-3 fatty acids that are most important to our health are DHA and EPA. The body can convert ALA to DHA or EPA. But, researchers have shown that ALA supplements do not increase circulating levels of DHA. It is DHA that is most beneficial to women's health issues, such as PMS and the depression that may accompany menopause.

Low levels of DHA are known to accompany depression and have been found in women suffering from moderate to severe PMS. Fish oil is the best and most reliable source of DHA, but you will need to read the label to be sure. Many products contain more EPA than DHA; it should be just the opposite.

Fish Oil Benefits Health Conditions

Omega-3 fatty acids have natural anti-inflammatory activity that helps relieve cramping. It's good for the joints and the heart, painful joints often accompany menopause. Heart disease is more common in postmenopausal women.

Breast cancer is one of the women's health issues that are most worrisome, particularly in women with a family history of the disease. Fish oil may reduce the risk of breast and cervical cancer. Several studies report that women with these types of cancer have low circulating levels of omega-3 fatty acids.

In addition, we now know that chronic inflammation plays a significant role in cancer cell production and tumor growth. Researchers have been recommending increased intake of natural anti-inflammatories for several years, but not everyone in the mainstream medical community has paid attention to that advice.

Most people don't want to give up their regular diets in order to reduce their risk of chronic and life threatening diseases. But, taking a good dietary supplement is something that practically anyone is willing to do.

In summary: Consume more DHA than EPA. Take in more omega3 than omega6. Omega6 comes from cooking oils. Cut down on frying food. Fish oil is the best source of Omega3/DHA. So, take a good fish oil supplement. It's good for women's health and for men's. For the best fish oil source that I have found in my research please visit my website listed below. Women Health Supplements - How to Choose the Right Supplements

If we took a proper well balanced diet which contained all the nutrition then we would never be deficient of any vitamins, minerals, and anti-oxidants. We would get them from our food resources and would never have to complain.

Unfortunately diets are imperfect and women are not as healthy as they could be. That's the reason why doctors recommend multivitamin supplements as fundamental to overall health and wellness. If everything was perfect we would all eat a balanced diet consisting of at least five servings of fruits and vegetables a day, whole grains, low-fat dairy and high quality, lean meat, poultry, or fish.

Ideally we should eat fresh from the farm, preferably organic foods that are rich in nutrients, coming from soil not contaminated by harmful pesticides and toxins. Fresh foods should not be further depleted by preservatives and long-transit times.

The question is how women should choose the right kinds of health products for optimum wellness from the wide variety of vitamin products and supplements available today.

Of course we all know that vitamins, minerals, herbals and other health supplements are not a substitute for any medication and the doctor's guidance. They can still be very helpful in certain health issues.

One of the simplest things you can do today is taking top quality supplements each day. But you should be careful not to overdo it for the simple reason that there are possible risks associated with taking higher than recommended doses of some vitamins, minerals and herbal supplements. The best thing is read and follow label directions.

Women should go for a multivitamin that is specially formulated to support their specific nutritional needs. Choose a multivitamin that is highly absorbent nutritional supplement specially formulated to offer a potent and effective alternative to traditional mass manufactured multivitamins.

Look for these things in a Multivitamin:

High Nutritional Value-Look for a multivitamin with good nutrition content because that will good health. There are formulated multivitamins that fill our nutritional gaps using the most nutritionally dense and beneficial foods.

Ultra Potent-The multivitamin should use only high quality naturally occurring vitamins and minerals that are absorbed easily by the body. For example Super Green Foods like Spirulina, Chlorella and Green Barley.

Easy Absorption-They should be easily absorbed by the body. For instance natural enzymes like Bromelain and Papain aid absorption.

Natural-Ensure the multivitamins contain nothing else but only the highest quality natural ingredients. No unnecessary additives, fillers, colors, or dyes. It should also be free of food allergens like wheat, dairy, corn, soy etc.

Safe-Last but not the least, the products should be safe.

While selecting vitamins check for a balanced daily formula, especially one that is blended so that all the ingredients work together in harmony. It would also be beneficial to include a a protein shake and a fish oil capsule in your daily diet.

However if you are you expecting a baby or lactating, use caution when taking any kind of womens health supplements. It is always better to consult your physician first. He might probably prescribe a prenatal vitamin that is specially formulated for pregnancy.

Similarly if you are going through any medication it is good to talk to your doctor before you try any women's health supplements. Your doctor may not want you taking both at once. So go ahead and choose good multivitamins to maintain your body´s overall health.

Women health supplements should contain multivitamins with the highest quality natural ingredients. Choose supplements that are formulated with multivitamins that fill nutritional gaps. For supplements and vitamins that promote optimal health, visit http://www.goodelements.com.

Women's Health Advice - Discover Anti Aging Vitamins

Women age as their body cells die and when new healthy cell generation is hindered simultaneously. Premature aging can result from inadequate nutrition caused by years of poor dietary habits. Why? Because our bodies need certain amounts of vitamins to produce healthy cells and repair damaged cells. For many women, healthy cells can promote anti aging more than anything else

Free Radicals: Enemies to Your Anti Aging Efforts

When your diet lacks the vitamins needed for healthy cell rejuvenation, it will produce high amounts of free radicals, or highly reactive oxygen molecules. Free radicals will attack your healthy cells, thus, accelerating the aging process. Foods high in fat content, pesticides and ultraviolet radiation exposure can also contribute to free radical production and hinder your anti aging efforts.

Vitamins for Anti Aging

Vitamins have been a source of good women's health for years, but new discoveries through the cutting edge science in genomics reveal that certain amounts of vitamins are needed to promote healthy cell rejuvenation and anti aging. Let's look at some of the anti-aging vitamins below.

Antioxidants

Some of the vitamins found in many berries such as strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, cherries and grapes are natural antioxidants that help rid your body of harmful toxins that can hinder your anti-aging efforts. Green tea is also a good source of natural antioxidants. Toxins are introduced to the body every day in the foods you eat and pollutants in the air. Though you cannot feel anything, toxins are well at work to destroy good, healthy cells and speed up your aging process!

Vitamin B3

Vitamin B3, or niacin, helps the body to convert calories from fat, protein and carbohydrates into energy. It aids in digestive functions as well as promotes healthy nerves and skin. This vitamin can be found in peanuts, yeast, eggs, meat, poultry and fish. It's also one of the key ingredients for anti-aging supplements.

Vitamin B6

Vitamin B6, or pyridoxine, aids in brain function and the conversion of protein into energy. It can be found in pork, fish, poultry, eggs, soybeans, whole grains, bananas, nuts and seeds, and oats. Vitamin Blends There are also anti-aging products with vitamin blends that combine a number of cell-promoting vitamins into one ingredient. These vitamins are carefully measured to give you just the right amount for proper cell rejuvenation. Thanks to cutting edge science in genomics, companies are now able to include just the right balance of vitamins for each cycle of life.

Reduce Dairy Product Intake

Dairy products such as milk and cheese contain Casein, which is a common food allergen that depletes immune cells. Replace some of your dairy products with other calcium-rich foods such as soy, juice, rice, salmon, sardines, broccoli, and collard greens.

Other vitamins that promote anti aging and healthy cells include Vitamin E, Selenium, Vitamin K and Vitamin C. As you can see, vitamins are essential for skin beauty, strong bones and joints, and healthy cell generation. With all the new anti aging products, it's easier than ever to get all the vitamins you need.

Anti Aging and Genomics For Women's Health

Anti aging products have been around for years, from creams to pills to bath oils - they're all designed to make women look and feel younger. What many women don't realize is that the aging process begins right after we're born! Each time the skin is exposed to the rays of the sun, some slight aging occurs. Unfortunately, it takes years for the evidence of aging to show up for most women.

Ten or twenty years of sun bathing can equal lots of wrinkles and skin discoloration once a woman reaches her 40s or 50s. The anti aging products on the store shelves then become very attractive, but many will not work after reaching a certain age. That's why a new cutting edge science in Genomics is getting noticed in the anti-aging market. It's a new natural discovery that defies aging through cell rejuvenation.

What is Genomics?

Genomics is the study and experimentation of genomes, or an organism's complete DNA makeup, that is found in virtually every cell of the human body. In studying genomics, scientists have discovered ways to encourage cell repair and healthy cell development as the body produces new cells every day. This process is ongoing so having healthy cells is pertinent to good women's health.

Through cutting edge science in genomics and a devotion to help women with anti-aging, natural products have been developed to help prevent aging and maintain beauty for many years. Through cell rejuvenation, the body is capable of healthy aging.

Food and Aging

If we need natural ingredients found in foods to have healthy cells, why not just eat a more healthy diet? Eating healthy is important in slowing the aging process, but it's usually not enough unless you eat raw vegetables from your own garden! Many fruits and vegetables are grown in nutritionally-depleted soil, shipped to the grocery, cooked in oil and served on the platter. Through this entire process, the foods are losing important minerals and nutrients women need for healthy living. Taking an anti-aging supplement provides nutrients and minerals needed to replace those lost in foods.

Good Bone and Joint Health

Another area of concern for women is bone and joint health. Proteins help to keep bone and joint tissue healthy and strong. With arthritis and osteoporosis being so prevalent among older women, it's wise to start working on good bone and joint health at a young age. Products are available to help restore minerals that are lost in the bones and joints during the aging process.

Anti-aging research through genomics is still fairly new, but many women are already seeing results when using natural, genomics-based anti-aging products.
